Monthly Desktop Wallpaper – December 2010
The first light dusting of snow here arrived December 1, so to celebrate, December's Desktop Wallpaper is a winter scene from Rock Cut State Park in Rockford, IL, a short drive from my home in Beloit, WI. Rock Cut is billed as the largest state park in northern Illinois, and while it lacks large, dramatic scenic features, I still enjoy walking and photographing there on occasion.
As usual, I provide the wallpaper in two image sizes, 1280 x 1024 and 1440 x 900.
To set an image as your desktop wallpaper, just right-click (PC) / control-click (Mac) on one of the links below and save the image to your desktop or some other location where you’ll be able to find it again. Then right-click (PC) / control-click (Mac) on the image and select the option to make it your Desktop Background / Picture.
Even easier, some browsers will let you set it as your Desktop Background / Picture directly from their context menu when you right-click (PC) / control-click (Mac).
As always, please leave your comments below to let me know what you think.

Beautiful image Jack, this works very well as a pano crop. You have completely filled the frame and th s curve leads the eye through the entire photograph. Well done !!!
Thanks, Kevin! I’m finding I like panos more and more, although I still often don’t “see” them until I’m editing the full-frame image…
Thanks for stopping by! :^D

Nice photo. Reminds me of early summer back in northern Minnesota…
Too funny, pj – but not all _that_ far from the truth!

Jack,
It has been a while since I last visited so I decided to take a look. I really like this image and your processing here. The pano is perfect as the road leads me through. Excellent. I need to come back more often!
Thanks, Derrald! I’ve fallen behind on wallpapers – I’ll have to catch up soon!

Derrald, I don’t know how I missed seeing your book when I visited your site before, but I’ve just ordered a copy & can’t wait to see it!
