As part of their promotional efforts, The Weather Channel is providing me a copy of Lik's book “Spirit of America” to give away. This is a beautiful book showcasing Lik's photography of both iconic and seldom-seen locations across the US. I own a copy of this book myself, and I've spent hours engrossed in it. For a chance to win this book, just leave a comment below or re-tweet the link to this post. After the show's premiere on March 31, I'll select the recipient's name at random from among the comments on my blog, Facebook page, and Twitter.
So, spread the word, watch the show, and comment for a chance at the book! And if you're not familiar with his work, check out Lik's website at http://www.peterlik.com/ for a photographic treat!

(Full disclosure – The Weather Channel emailed to ask if I'd mention the show, and offered the book as a giveaway, but I'm not receiving any sort of remuneration for this post. I'm a long-time fan of Peter Lik, and would have blogged about the show regardless!)
On the edge of life with Peter Lik is a thrilling ride on an artistic roller coaster.
On the Edge looks like it will be great.
I learnt of Peter Lik only last year in Las Vegas and was blown away by the breath taking pictures. Ever since I look through my camera ” like peter would see it ‘.
Ha!! no chance!?!
So I ended up by buying his picture of central park. It reminded me of the days I used to live close by to central park.

waiting to see the weather channel March 31st
Really looking forward to From the Edge. A huge Peter Lik fan, have owned Angels Heart and currently Impression although Forever is on our list to get next–given I am from and live in Alaska, I am most looking forward to that segment!
I visited his gallary in Las Vegas this January and I was amazed at his work. I would love to own a piece of his work but as the salesperson mentioned to me if you have to ask for the price you can’t afford it. So I just stood there and took the photos glorious images. Now I know his work I will set my reminders to watch each program! I have not seen the book but I would love to have it so that I can be learn.
I’ve looked for the book for my grand-daughter, studying photography at college, but the only reasonable price is on peterlik.com and it’s not currently available.
How I would love to win a copy!
Do you know of a source?
Thank you. Linda J.
Hi, Linda –
I’m afraid not – I got my copy from peterlik.com a while ago… But maybe you’ll be the lucky winner of this copy! I’ll be drawing a name at random after the series premieres on March 31!

Nancy–
I am sad to hear that the salesperson gave you that impression about his work. A lot of his pieces, depending on size can be very affordable–I felt the same way when I first went to the Maui gallery but once I started talking to the salesperson (now gallery director Sne), he assured me that owning a piece was not out of reach. It’s not unreasonable to ask the price of any piece of art, it can be something you can budget and work towards and that is how my husband and I have acquired many of the pieces we currently own–art should be within anyone’s reach and I know that the gallery offers a 20% and no interest for one year payment plan—look into it!
I’ve been watching for his series to begin as I’ve seen it advertised on The Weather Channel. His unique perspective will make the program both entertaining and informative. I’m always looking for ways to grow my knowledge of photography as an art form.
Can’t wait to see the show!! Put it on a season pass with TiVo
Great show!!!! This is what great TV is all about.
I visited his gallary in Waikiki a few weeks ago and was really impressed with this work. Especially like his impressionistic pieces. Just found out about the Weather Channel series. Looking forward to checking it out.
Hi, Todd –
I enjoyed the series very much, and I was hoping they’d bring it back for another season. I haven’t heard anything about it since the first season ended, though…
Thanks for visiting!

My husband loves Peter’s shows. He records them while he watches them so that he can watch them over and over. He would be extremely grateful to have a copy of the book “Spirit of America”.
Hi, Nicole –
Are Peter’s shows still on someplace? I haven’t heard anything about them since the season ended…
Thanks for stopping by!
