Great Art Doesn’t Match the Sofa – Part 2

A bit over a year ago, friend and fellow Camera Codger John Spates took a photo of my work hanging at The Villager here in Beloit, WI, and turned it into a fun conversation piece with his caption “Great Art Doesn't Match the Sofa”. I found out today that this made the “Artist Quote of the Day” blog at http://artistquoteoftheday.wordpress.com/2011/04/05/fine-art-doesnt-have-to-match-your-sofa/ ! John, your influence just keeps spreading! :^D

The Villager is owned and operated by the inestimable Betsy Schmiechen. You can visit in person at 429 E. Grand Ave. in Beloit, call them at 608-365-6077, or visit them on the web at http://www.villagergallery.com/. I'll be there for the upcoming ArtWalk, so if you're in the area from 5-9 on Friday, May 20 or 10-2 on Saturday, May 21, please stop in to say hi!

John’s work is on display at The Villager as well, and you can see more on his website at http://homepage.mac.com/drjohn/.

  1. I should probably note that I’m still plenty happy to sell a photo to someone even if it does match their sofa…
