Waiting for Winter in Wisconsin

February 22nd in Wisconsin, and it's raining. Barely a patch of snow to be seen. We have a chance of snow with accumulation up to 3″ in the next couple of days, but it's supposed to be mixed with rain and melt soon. This is just so wrong. I blame myself, though – I finally bought a snow thrower this year in an effort to save my back for more important things like lifting grandkids and carrying a heavy camera backpack, and, well, you see the result. (Oh, sure, you scoff – but ask anyone who has gone through a checkout or toll booth with me about my Line Curse!)

I did get out once this winter. I didn't find a lot to shoot, but it sure felt good to get out! I think these are the only keepers from that expedition…

If you're actually getting a real winter this year, feel free to post below and make me envious!

  1. I think it is pretty much the same for most of the lower 48 Jack. I have been out I think twice. So I usually find myself poking in my archives to find something to post about. 🙂 Don’t worry, I think your snowblower will get some good use in the coming years – or maybe in May.

  2. Hey, Mark –

Well, I did get to use it yesterday, and I went out shooting for a few hours, too! I don’t think I got anything spectacular, but it sure felt good to get out!
