I've been wanting to get back to Starved Rock State Park, but it's perhaps a trifle warm to go hiking around the canyons with 25 or 30 pounds of camera gear on my back… Instead, I've been working on a few photos I shot there last year. Not the same as being there again, but much more comfortable! :^D

Another year in the tin! I’ve created a new gallery of my 12 favorite images from the many I made in 2012 (also shown below). As you might expect, ten of the twelve are from the Northwoods of Wisconsin and Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. Several factors come into play when I make my “favorite images” selections….
In some ways, I look at processing photos as a way to experience the place all over again. Unfortuantely, I often come across compositions within compositions where I say “I wish I had done that instead.” 🙂 Love the rock walls in these Jack.
I’m right there with you, Mark, especially when I realize an image really works better as a pano… That’s my favorite thing about having more pixels to play with – it gives me some creative freedom in editing.
