I’ve just updated the galleries (mostly by culling old photos that weren’t up to my current standards) and changed the way the gallery system works behind the scenes. If you spot any problems, please let me know!
As always, thanks for visiting!

A couple of images from a recent trip to Governor Dodge State Park here in Wisconsin. The colors weren’t brilliant, but it was still a beautiful Wisconsin autumn day! Unfortunately, you really lose the sense of depth with the small versions here. These are larger than the versions on my Facebook page (at http://www.facebook.com/jackvjohnsonphoto), but…
Here are more photos from my recent visit to Gibraltar Rock State Natural Area near Lodi, Wisconsin. I only got a handful of shots I like that trip – The Light just wasn’t with me that day. Still, I hope they give you a taste of the geological and pastoral beauty on offer there! I…
On my recent all-too-short trip north I stopped to visit the aspen clonal colony shown below. I need to enjoy this image, because it will be impossible to make another like it there – most of the colony has been cut, leaving only a thin strip through which I could see the bulldozers and bare…
I came across this scene just outside Ashland, WI on a stormy May afternoon in 2008. I loved the charged atmosphere and vibrant storm-weather colors, and did my best to capture it in this image. As usual, I provide the wallpaper in two image sizes, 1280 x 1024 and 1440 x 900. To set an…
Yes, it’s that time of year again! The Beloit, WI ArtWalk runs Friday May 10 from 5-9, and Saturday May 11 from 10-2. As always, I’ll be at The Villager Gallery and Frameworks, located at 429 E. Grand Avenue here in Beloit. There are some 50 artists displaying work of all types at over 25…
Hard to believe, but the year’s half over already! Here’s my July 2010 desktop wallpaper / calendar image, again in two image sizes, one wider than the other. This month’s photo is a water abstract shot in Yellowstone National Park. To set an image as your desktop wallpaper, just right-click (PC) / control-click (Mac) on…
Thanks for the reminder Jack, I think I need to do a little pruning myself! 🙂 Sometimes I wonder why I bothered to trip the shutter on some of those older images!
Galleries worked fine for me. Looks great.
Hey, Mark –
I’m chalking it up to learning experiences – at least, I like to _think_ I’m getting better! (Or maybe that I’m getting lucky more often!)
:^D
I see you were up in the U.P. this weekend – hope you had a great trip!
